China's youth organizations on Tuesday unveiled their annual list of winners of the China Youth May Fourth Medal -- the top honor for outstanding young Chinese people -- in the 26th iteration of the awards event.

5月3日，第26届“中国青年五四奖章”评选揭晓。中国青年五四奖章”是共青团中央、全国青联授予中国优秀青年的最高荣誉。

A total of 122 individuals and 33 groups were on the list.

本次共有122名个人和33个集体获得该奖章。

The Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the All-China Youth Federation recently decided to award the medals to 49 young people and 16 youth groups, and also confirmed the same honor for another 73 individuals and 17 other groups, according to an official statement.

据官方消息，受到共青团中央和全国青联表彰的个人共49名，集体共16个。此外，对在完成重大任务中作出突出贡献的73名个人和17个集体予以表彰确认。

Olympic athletes and researchers and engineers in the aerospace science and technology sector are among the medal recipients.

奖章获得者包括奥运健儿、研究人员以及航天科技工程师等。

The awarding of the China Youth May Fourth Medal began in 1997 and usually takes place around China's Youth Day, May 4.

Chinese scientific expedition team reaches Mt. Qomolangma summit

A total of 13 members of a Chinese expedition team reached the summit of Mount Qomolangma, the world's highest peak at a height of 8,848.86 meters, on Wednesday.

5月4日，我国13名科考队员成功登顶珠穆朗玛峰。珠峰海拔高达8848.86米，为世界第一高峰。

At the summit, the squad measured the thickness of ice and snow using high-accuracy radar for the first time and collected samples for further research.

科考队首次在峰顶利用高精度雷达测量峰顶冰雪厚度，并为后续研究采集冰雪样品。

The squad is part of a larger scientific research team consisting of more than 270 members carrying out a comprehensive scientific expedition on Mount Qomolangma, which falls within China's second scientific research survey on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.

该队是由270多名成员组成的大型科研团队的一部分，正在对珠穆朗玛峰进行全面的科学考察，属于中国对青藏高原的第二次科学考察。

With the most disciplines covered, the most scientific research participants, and the most advanced equipment utilized, the expedition is the largest since the survey on the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau started in 2017.  

这也是2017年第二次青藏科考启动以来学科覆盖面最广、参加科考队员最多、采用仪器设备最先进的综合性科考。

China’s Ministry of Education has issued the Life Skills Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education (2022 edition), which will be implemented in the fall semester of 2022. The classes will officially become part of the curriculum in primary and secondary schools from September, according to a report from the Xinhua News Agency on Thursday.

新华社5月5日报道，教育部近日发布《义务教育劳动课程标准（2022年版）》（下称《标准》），于2022年秋季学期开始执行。今年九月起，劳动课将正式成为中小学的一门独立课程。

The learning objectives include “organization and storage, household cleaning and cooking.” They have been formulated according to different school stages, according to the curriculum standards.

根据《标准》，劳动课的学习目标根据不同学段制定，包括整理与收纳、清洁与卫生、烹饪与营养等。

Primary school students will be required to understand and master the basics of home cooking, from preparing vegetables to finally being able to complete the whole process of home cooking independently.

《标准》要求小学生能够理解和掌握基本的家庭饮食烹饪技法，学会从择菜、洗菜开始到独立完成家庭餐的烹饪。

“五一”假期露营大火

Chinese Tourists Plump for Camping During Labor Day Long Weekend

Camping under the stars became the holiday of choice for a growing number of Chinese tourists during the five-day Labor Day break as the latest outbreaks of Covid-19 hamper tourism.

随着新冠疫情的爆发，旅游业受阻，越来越多的中国游客在为期5天的“五一”假期中选择在星空下露营。

Bookings for camping trips over the public holiday tripled from the same period last year, according to online travel platform Qunar. And ticket sales at camping parks climbed over 40 percent. Camping trips increased sharply in eastern and southern China.

根据在线旅游平台去哪儿网的数据，法定假日露营活动的预订量是去年同期的三倍。可以露营的公园门票销量上涨超4成。中国东部和南部地区的露营旅游急剧增加。

Camping paraphernalia such as tents, backpacks, foldable tables and chairs sold out on Qunar the week before the holiday. And sales during the holiday tripled from the same period last year.

“五一”假期前一周，去哪儿网的帐篷、背包、折叠式桌椅等露营用品全部售罄，假期期间露营用品销售额是去年同期的三倍。
